RENNER AWARD FOR INNOVATION
Rocky Mountain Association of Fairs, Nov 2017
Western Montana Fair earns four awards at Rocky Mountain Association of Fairs conference for the Free Admission program and fair branding.
The 2017 Western Montana Fair (WMF) was lauded by the fair industry as staff brought home four awards from the 2017 Rocky Mountain Association of Fairs (RMAF) conference. The conference took place November 8-11 in Colorado Springs, CO.
The Renner Award for Innovation was awarded to the Western Montana Fair in recognition of the Free Admission program, which brought the Fair big growth numbers in attendance and revenue while simplifying operations and enhancing access to the community. According to RMAF, “The purpose of this award is to recognize members in our association who have implemented a successful new project, program or effort that demonstrates excellence in innovation and creativity. This award is being given in tribute to Barbara Renner, who is a trailblazer in the fair industry having served as president of RMAF and the first female president IAFE, among countless other distinctions.” Fair staff submitted a detailed proposal outlining the risks, rewards, and creative accomplishments of the project and provided a video presentation for the conference.
The Western Montana Fair also brought home three top-tier design awards in the large fair category, via RMAF’s Summit Awards Program, which recognizes excellence in design and branding for fairs. Missoula artist Josh Quick designed all of the artwork for the 2017 Fair, including the poster, premium book, logo event program, and all of the Free Admission campaign’s graphics.
