Sons of Norway

The mission of Sons of Norway is to promote and to preserve the heritage and culture of Norway, to celebrate or relationship with other Nordic Countries, and to provide quality insurance and financial products to our members.

The Sons of Norway has been selling our famous “Vikings” at the Western Montana Fair since 1970. The Viking is a “meatball on a stick” and is hand-prepared. It contains beef and an undisclosed combination of Scandinavian seasonings. At the fair, the Viking is dipped in a special batter, deep fired, placed on a stick and served in a “boat”. Lefse, rosettes, corndogs, pop and water are also sold.

Believing in our involvement in our community, we donate to several other local non-profits from the profit of the Fair Booth. The remainder of the profit from the fair goes to support our local lodge by maintaining our lodge building, providing educational scholarships for college students and for members seeking a greater knowledge of Norwegian culture and crafts, and for the social activities of our members.
