Carnival Hours & Guidelines

Hours of Operation:

NOON. – 10 p.m. TUE-SAT AUG 6-10

NOON – 8 p.m. SUN AUG 11

General Guidelines:

The Western Montana Fair allows fairgoers room to roam as they enjoy the beverage of their choice. The only exceptions are no alcohol is permitted in the carnival lot, parking lot or livestock areas.

All amusement riders must be at least 36 inches tall. The minimum height for some rides can be as tall as 56 inches.

Each amusement device on the midway has been evaluated to determine the physical criteria necessary to safely ride. This includes the boarding and de-boarding process as well as enduring the dynamics of the ride throughout its entire cycle. Most rides have safety systems designed to accommodate an average person. Physical requirements for the rider of each ride will be strictly enforced.  Therefore, extremely large or small individuals, people with casts, braces, or other disabilities may not be properly seated or restrained in some amusement devices. In cases where a particular condition may increase the risk of discomfort or injury to an individual, access to the ride will be denied.

Additionally, guests who are intoxicated, mentally unstable, smoking or actively interfering with the safety procedures set forth by the carnival ride operator will be denied access to carnival rides.

Wheelchair guests must be capable of lifting themselves from their wheelchairs onto and off the ride or must be aided by an adult companion capable of lifting the disabled guest from the wheelchair. Carnival personnel are neither trained nor permitted to assist disabled guests other than helping them to steady or support the guest or by aiding the guest’s companion. Wheelchair guests with up to two companions will be allowed to ride without waiting in line. Additionally, these guests will be given the option of two consecutive ticketed rides if ride operations permit.

When vision impaired guests are riding attractions, someone in the guest party must stay with the guide dog, if applicable. Carnival personnel cannot care for nor be responsible for the guide dog.
