Montana Mounted Honor Guard

Rob Labair is a professional team roper, military veteran, and dedicated mentor based near Rock Creek just east of Missoula, Montana. With decades of experience in and out of the arena, Rob combines precision horsemanship with purpose-driven service. He proudly honors his country by presenting the nation’s colors at public events and works closely with fellow veterans facing the invisible wounds of PTSD—using horses, roping, and the ranch lifestyle as tools for healing and connection.

At this year’s Horse Connection, Rob will lead a 2-hour hands-on roping demonstration, sharing not only the technical secrets to successful team roping—but also life lessons about mindset, preparation, and wide-open thinking. Participants will get the chance to learn ground fundamentals, rope handling, and the mental game behind the loop. Whether you’re new to roping or looking to sharpen your skills, Rob’s approachable style and deep commitment to both the craft and the community will leave you inspired to cast a wide loop on life.
