Room to Roam

NO MORE FENCES!

You may enjoy your adult beverage of choice throughout the Fairgrounds (excluding the parking lot, carnival lot and livestock barns). CASH ONLY – credit cards are not accepted at the Fair’s four (4) beverage centers.

Purchase $1 alcohol ID wristband

Before your first toast, you must purchase a $1 Alcohol ID wristband at one of the Fair’s four (4) beverage centers. A new Alcohol ID wristband is required for each day of the Fair. Present a valid ID at time of purchase.

RESTRICTIONS

Alcohol is not permitted in the parking lot, carnival lot or the livestock barns. Anyone without proper ID will be treated as under 21 and will not be allowed to purchase, hold or consume alcohol. Any patron found purchasing, holding or consuming alcohol without a valid form ID will be required to leave the venue immediately. No exceptions. The venue will also deny entry to anyone presenting fraudulent identification. Disregard for this rule may result in removal from the venue.

DRINK RESPONSIBLY

The Fair is a family friendly event. Disruptive or drunken behavior will not be tolerated. Make a plan to enjoy your drinking privileges responsibly.

Do’s:

  • Stay hydrated – Alcohol dehydrates you, it is always preferable to have a greater ratio of non-alcohol to alcohol.

  • Drink with a group of friends – avoid drinking alone or with people you don’t really know.

  • Create a buddy system with at least one of your friends – someone who knows your tolerance and will watch out for you.

  • Know your limits – set your limits before going out, maintain a slow and steady pace and listen to your body.

  • Know how you’re getting home – do not drive or get into a car with someone who has been drinking.

Don’ts:

  • Don’t drink more than one drink per hour – one drink is the equivalent of a 12 oz. beer, a 5 oz. wine or 1.5 oz. of spirits (40% abv).

  • Don’t drink on an empty stomach – eat a hearty meal rich in carbs and proteins.

  • Don’t mix your prescription medications with alcohol – visit with your doctor before consuming adult beverages.

  • Don’t drink if you haven’t had much sleep – alcohol affects you more intensely if you are already exhausted.

  • Don’t drink if you are not in a positive frame of mind – drink only when happy, don’t drink with someone you are mad at and don’t use drinking to deal with sadness.
