Horse show premiums will be paid at these rates in all divisions unless otherwise stated or as determined by the Superintendent. Premium awards less than $600.00 will be paid in cash at the end of the show. For all exhibitors winning cumulative premium money exceeding $600.00, a completed W-9 form is required, and a check will be mailed within 60 days. A completed W-9 form must be submitted by Friday, August 12 to the Fair Office. W-9s will not be accepted after August 14.

Important Facts & Dates

August 2 – FINAL DAY FOR ONLINE ENTRIES

  • Enter online by 5 p.m. Friday, August 2, 2024 using the the online entry system. Day of entries will be accepted at the Fair Office (1101 South Ave W, Missoula, MT 59801). Entry Fee is $6.00 per entry and required to be paid in full at time of entry. You will not be considered registered for the show if payment is not received by August 4. Parents must sign if exhibitor is under 18 years of age. Following registration, print and save your receipt for entry confirmation. An additional $3.00 will be charged for day of show entries and should be given to the Fair Office.

August 4 – Show Day

  • Day of entries will be accepted at the Fair Office (1101 South Ave W, Missoula, MT 59801).

  • Gates open 8 a.m. Show begins 9 a.m. Sunday, August 4, 2024 in the rodeo arena in front of the grandstands. Vehicles will be allowed in designated areas only. Use the Stephens’ gate entrance. Vehicle and gate procedures are located online here.

  • A 45-minute lunch break will be provided as close to noon as possible. Bring your own lunch and refreshments as no concessions are available onsite. Horses are dismissed the same day. Stalls are available for rent for the night before or the day of the show. No stalls are available after August 4. Reserve your stalls during Step 3 of the online entry process.

AUGUST 11 – PREMIUM PAYOUT

  • Premiums are available for pickup 1 to 4 p.m., Sunday, August 11 at the Fair Office (Bldg. #12). Premiums are also available 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. August 12-14. Any unpaid premiums after 7 p.m., August 14 will be forfeited.

General Exhibiting GUIDELINES

  • 4-H and FFA members are encouraged to enter in open class, if open class guidelines are met. 4-H and FFA members must register and pay the open class entry fees online by the entry deadline in order to show in open class.

  • Judging of halter classes will be held in conjunction with the rules and regulations per breed specifications rule book.

  • Judging of the pleasure and equitation classes will be held in conjunction with the rules and regulations in the USEF Rule Book.

  • Absolutely no stallions will be shown by exhibitors under the age of 17.

  • Novice refers to rider or horse who have not won three (3) blue ribbons in any show. Novice riding will be walk/trot only

  • The Superintendent and/or judge reserve the right to cancel or combine any division due to a lack of participation or to split large divisions. If the situation exists, the exhibitor will be notified at the start of the division. The judge’s decision is final in all matters relative to the rules and regulations.

  • Best of Breed Division will be open to those horses placing 1st and 2nd in each class number. Best of Show Division will be open to the Best of Breed winners.
